In collaboration with HealthPlan of California, Buddy’s Ranch provides a nurturing, structured environment along with daily habilitation programming for Medi-Cal members who have successfully completed detox and are excited to continue their journey. This program requires a minimum of a three-month commitment, to ensure a solid foundation for sobriety.
While this program is distinct from our residential treatment and focuses on continued personal growth, it embodies the spirit that inspired Buddy’s Ranch: healing blossoms when we support each other. Together, we can forge a brighter future!
You're Not Managing This Alone
Embarking on the journey of early recovery is a transformative experience that also involves navigating the healthcare system, an important step toward a brighter future. Together, we tackle this challenge with enthusiasm and support.
When you join our program, you’ll connect with a primary care physician to prioritize your physical health right from the start. You’ll also be paired with a dedicated therapist through the Partnership HealthPlan portal, ensuring they collaborate closely with your case manager at every step. This means your care team works seamlessly together, creating a supportive network for you.
With regular check-ins and strong communication between your therapist, case manager, and support team, you’ll never feel alone. We’re here to celebrate your progress and keep you on the path to success. That’s what makes this journey so empowering!
This isn’t a waiting room between detox and “real life.” It’s daily structure, real relationships, and steady support, built around a simple idea, recovery sticks when it’s practiced every day, in community, with people who are paying attention.
Here’s what’s included:
- Housing. A stable, supportive place to live while you do the work, not a hospital, not a clinical facility, just a safe home base.
- Daily rehab programming. Structured days matter. You’ll have somewhere to be, something to work on, and people to work on it with.
- Group therapy, held right at the house. Recovery happens in conversation as much as in session, we bring the group to where you live.
- 12-step meetings, woven into the rhythm of the week.
- Weekly case management, so nothing falls through the cracks, appointments, paperwork, insurance, the logistics of a life in transition.
This program is built for people who are medically stable and ready for day habilitation, not for active detox. If you haven’t detoxed yet, that has to happen first, at a facility equipped to do it safely. Once that’s done, here’s what admission looks like:
- Insurance verification. We confirm your Medi-Cal coverage through Partnership HealthPlan of California before anything else.
- Two screenings. To make sure this is the right level of care for you, safely and honestly, you’ll go through two screenings confirming that you’re medically and psychiatrically stable enough for a non-medical housing environment.
We do this not to create hurdles, but because setting you up in the right program the first time matters more than filling a bed quickly.
How Long You're With Us
The program is built around an initial three-month commitment. For a lot of people, that’s enough time to build a foundation that holds. If you and your care team agree that more time would serve you better, the program can extend beyond three months with insurance approval, recovery doesn’t run on a fixed clock, and neither does this.
