LET OUR SUPPORT GUIDE YOU TO RECOVERY

Addiction Treatment for Lake Tahoe Residents

Buddy’s Ranch treats most-to-all types of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Whether you’re looking for a Lake Tahoe drug rehab center for yourself or a loved one, we offer the following programs to Lake Tahoe residents and others seeking help for addiction.

Medical Detox Program

Detox plays an important role in treatment because it supports you through the initial process of discontinuing drugs and alcohol. When you first stop using substances, you may experience mild-to-severe withdrawal symptoms. At this point in time, medical stability is the main goal. The detox program at Buddy's Ranch is short-term, and it is designed to help prepare you for further treatment, where you’ll address the underlying causes of addiction. Following detox, most clients enter our residential inpatient program.

Residential Inpatient Program

At our residential treatment center in Northern California, clients live on-site and stay at one of our close-knit homes until they’re done with treatment. We have two 6-bed houses; one for men and one for women. Our gender-specific approach to treatment allows clients to feel comfortable when discussing personal experiences in groups or participating in group activities like adventure therapy. While in residential inpatient treatment, you’ll undergo various types of therapy, build a set of effective coping and relapse prevention skills, boost confidence, and work through challenges that may have contributed to your experiences with addiction. For example, trauma, body image, stress, societal or peer pressure, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Most clients stay at our treatment center for about 30-180 days. The length of your stay at Buddy's Ranch will depend on your personal needs. Having the opportunity to stay in treatment for longer allows you to solidify new, sober routines and coping skills, setting you up for success after rehab.

Outpatient Substance Abuse and Mental Health Programs

For those who find housing in the nearby area, we offer outpatient treatment options. These include outpatient substance abuse treatment as well as outpatient mental health primary treatment.

Aftercare Planning and Alumni Support

Before you leave inpatient rehab in California at Buddy's Ranch, our staff members will help you make a custom aftercare plan. The goal of an aftercare plan is to prevent relapse and guide you through steps that support lasting sobriety after treatment. For example, your aftercare plan might include continued therapy, ongoing medication management or medication-assisted treatment for addiction, an outpatient program close to your local area, or support groups. Buddy's Ranch also lets those who have finished our programs stay in touch through our alumni services. Check-in calls with staff and other offerings help alumni continue feeling supported and connected post-treatment.

Care for the Lake Tahoe Community

The Need for Addiction Treatment in
Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe itself exists on the border of California and Nevada, but about two-thirds of the lake is in California. Statistics on drug and alcohol abuse in California show that:

  • Over half of Californians aged 12+ drank alcohol in the past year in 2022.
  • Overdose deaths involving amphetamines increased by 50% from 2018 to 2020.
  • Roughly 9% of California residents have a substance use disorder of some kind.

Substance abuse rates are also high in Nevada and across the United States. Access to treatment options like our inpatient rehab program can change or save the lives of those looking for a Lake Tahoe drug rehab center.
